El Instituto de Ciencia Política de la Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile hace un llamado a concurso abierto internacional para llenar puestos académicos en su planta ordinaria (tenure-track) de tiempo completo en la categoría de Profesor Asistente. Todas las áreas y sub-áreas serán consideradas, incluyendo metodología. Postulaciones de especialistas en Relaciones Internacionales, Economía Política Internacional y Estudios Globales (ampliamente concebidos), así cómo estudios regionales fuera de América Latina, son especialmente bienvenidas. El plazo de postulación finaliza el 4 de enero de 2014.
Inicialmente, el puesto tendrá una duración de dos años y será renovable de forma permanente, sujeto a una evaluación académica al término del período de dos años. La remuneración será conforme al sueldo base de ingreso, definido por la escala salarial de la Facultad de Historia, Geografía y Ciencia Política de la Universidad. Los postulantes deben poseer el grado de Doctor en Ciencia Política (o equivalente). Candidatos al grado de doctor serán considerados en la selección si se encuentran en condiciones de obtenerlo antes de iniciar sus labores; esto es, a más tardar al 1° de julio de 2014.
Las obligaciones docentes incluyen dictar tres cursos por año (pre y postgrado). El dominio del español para fines docentes es altamente deseable, aunque también pueden postular candidatos que expresen la voluntad de perfeccionar un nivel básico del español. Los candidatos deben demostrar un fuerte compromiso con el desarrollo de investigación de punta, publicaciones y docencia.
El Instituto de Ciencia Política es el departamento más antiguo del país y es altamente considerado en América Latina como un centro de excelencia para el estudio de la disciplina. En él se ofrecen programas de Licenciatura, Magíster y Doctorado. The Instituto de Ciencia Política of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile invites applications for full-time tenure-track positions as Assistant Professor in any field of political science. All areas and sub-specializations will be considered, including methodology. Candidates whose focus includes International Relations, International Political Economy and Global Studies, broadly defined, as well as area studies outside of Latin America/cross-regional work are especially welcome to apply.
Teaching obligations involve three courses per year.

Initial appointment is for a period of two years and renewable on a permanent basis, pending academic performance evaluation at the end of the two year period. Salary is according to an entry level position, as defined in the University´s faculty scale. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Political Science (or its equivalent). ABDs will be considered as long as they are able to obtain their degree by the time they start their position, which must be on July 1st 2014 at the latest.
Teaching obligations involve three courses per year. Fluency in Spanish for teaching purposes is highly valued, but candidates who express the willingness to perfect basic proficiency also may apply.
